Group of Professionals at a Seminar

MAAR members are subject to continuing education requirements as defined by the Tennessee Real Estate Commission (TREC). These requirements are mandatory to avoid suspension of one's real estate license and termination of MAAR membership.

Affiliate Brokers are required to complete sixteen (16) hours of continuing education, six (6) of which being the mandatory TREC Core Course, prior to their license's expiration date.

Brokers licensed prior to January 1, 2005 are exempt from continuing education requirements.

Brokers licensed on or after January 1, 2005 are not exempt from continuing education and must complete sixteen (16) hours of continuing education, six (6) of which being the mandatory TREC Core Course, to renew their license after they have completed their 120 post-broker hours. The 120 post-broker hours must be completed by the third-year anniversary of receiving a broker license.

As of June 2022, TREC has transitioned to the third-party continuing education system CE Broker. As a result, TREC no longer shows continuing education credits on its website as it has done in the past and MAAR staff can no longer check members' continuing education for them.

Brokers may check CE hours online with CE Broker. You may also refer to this article by MAAR for steps on creating a new account. If you have questions regarding your account, please contact CE Broker Support.
