About CONVERGENCE Memphis
CONVERGENCE Memphis is a Memphis-based initiative dedicated to advancing racial equity in homeownership across the Mid-South. The organization focuses on three primary strategies: increasing housing inventory and strengthening the market position of first-time homebuyers; advocating for equitable housing policies through engagement with local and regional governments; and building partnerships with traditional homeownership institutions to remove barriers and expand educational and programmatic opportunities for prospective Black and minority homebuyers. Tailoring its work to the unique cultural and demographic dynamics of the Memphis housing market, Convergence Memphis develops community-specific solutions and collaborations. The organization is a subsidiary of United Housing, Inc., a nonprofit with more than 30 years of experience in local housing development, education and lending. Originally launched by the Mortgage Bankers Association, Convergence Memphis is part of a national network of Convergence organizations that leverage broad partnerships and evidence-based strategies to expand homeownership opportunities both locally and nationwide.
