Make-A-Wish Golf Tournament

The Tournament began in 2011 as a way for the MAAR Commercial Council to give back to our community. The Council decided to donate a significant portion of the proceeds from the tournament to Make-A-Wish^® Mid-South.

The goal in the first year was to raise enough money to grant one child’s wish. The average cost of a wish at that time was $5,000 but has now increased to more than $8,000. Through the hard work of the Golf Tournament Committee and the support of our sponsors, the Council was able to donate $17,000 to Make-A-Wish^®, enough to grant three wishes.

In 2019, the Commercial Council’s total donation to Make-A-Wish^® was $90,250, bringing our nine-year total in donations to $410,250. The Commercial Council hopes to surpass its goals yet again in the year to come and continue to help grant wishes for local Make-A-Wish^® kids.

Make-A-Wish^® Mid-South grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. If you know of a child who is critically ill, please visit midsouth.wish.org.

2019 Tournament

The 9^th Annual Commercial Council Make-A-Wish^® Golf Tournament was held May 23 at Windyke Country Club. The tournament has ended, but we're already looking ahead to 2020. Check back at a later date for details.
