Course Policies
Cost of Course The Education Department will determine the cost of each course after a thorough cost analysis has been done. This cost analysis will take into consideration the cost of the initial licensing or sponsor fee, the instructor fee, instructor's expenses (room, meals and transportation), room rental, written material, marketing of the course and refreshments. All costs will be kept to a minimum without sacrificing the quality of the course. Members of the Memphis Area Association of REALTORS® are entitled to a discount in the cost of the course. In order to receive this discount, the registrant must be a member in good standing. Early registration Early registration for some courses may extend an approximate ten percent (10%) discount to members of the Memphis Area Association of REALTORS®. In some cases, the privilege of the early registration discount may also be extended to non-MAAR members. Early registration will be described as being two weeks prior to the beginning date of the course. Early registrations will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on said date, unless that date falls on a holiday. In that case, the last day for an early registrant will be the next business day after the holiday. In order to receive the early registration discount, the registrant must pay by check, cash or credit card two weeks prior to course given. Cancellation by MAAR MAAR reserves the right to cancel any course, upon notification of registrants. If such a case should occur, the full amount of the course will be refunded to the registrant (credit card or refund check, whichever may be the case.) Cancellation by student Registrants have a right to cancel any course up to 48 hours prior to the beginning of the course. Cancellation can be through a telephone call to 901-685-2100. Refund policy Full refund will be given to registrants who cancel a course 48 hours prior to the beginning of the course. If the registrant fails to cancel within 48 hours no refund or transfer will be made. In case of a free class, no shows who do not cancel within the 48 hour time period will be charged $15.00. In a case of illness, extreme medical emergency or family emergency, the registrant will be given the opportunity to receive a full refund. These cases will be considered by MAAR'S Education Committee at the next quarterly meeting following the missed course. Requests for a refund will be considered only if the registrant submits a letter to the Education Committee stating the reason for failure to attend. Appeals on the committee's decision may be made by submitting a letter to the MAAR Education Foundation . All decisions of the MAAR Education Foundation will be final and binding.
