Market Reports & Statistics
Real estate information is plentiful today, never more than a click or two away. But all of that information does not hold equal value. MAAR members have an advantage: MAARdata and its exclusive, trusted information on the Memphis residential market.
The MAARdata system includes records of all property transactions in Shelby, Fayette and Tipton counties. At the beginning of each month, MAAR’s Market Report delivers the data you need to best serve your clients – including sales totals for new and existing homes and the average and median sales prices in 20 separate submarkets.
In the middle of the month, MAAR publishes the MLS Sales Report. This includes data for listings in Shelby, Fayette, Tipton, Hardeman, Hardin, McNairy and Lauderdale counties in Tennessee; DeSoto County in Mississippi; and Crittenden County in Arkansas. The MLS Sales Report provides fresh data on inventory and pending sales and breaks out sales totals by price range so you can track a particular market segment.
New to the stats game and issued toward the end of the month is MAAR Monitor. This report is a blend of the MAARdata Market Report and the MLS Sales Report and offers a six-month window into the local market. MAAR Monitor makes it easy for you to show clients the recent trends.
Information is a powerful tool, provided you have the right information. Fortunately, as a MAAR member, you have access to all of it at www.maar.org/marketreports.
Media Advocacy
Whether in print, on-line, or on television or radio, REALTORS® have something important to say: Home Ownership Matters.
This is why the National Association of REALTORS® has built a campaign around those three words and it is why MAAR welcomes any opportunity to speak about the value of sustainable home ownership.
When the NAR Home Ownership Matters bus tour rolled into Memphis this summer, three newspapers and television and radio stations covered the event. National and local member leadership spoke to the public through the media. The message: home ownership remains at the core of the American Dream and is worth protecting and preserving.
MAAR is the “voice for local real estate” and we seek opportunities for members to speak to the value of home ownership via local media outlets. Members are regularly interviewed by the city’s daily newspaper and business publications, serve as hosts or guests on local radio programs, and appear in television news stories about the local real estate market. A news release archive can be found at www.maar.org/newsreleases.
