Weekly Centennial Trivia Contest
Join in our weekly Centennial Trivia Contest and learn interesting facts about MAAR and our industry throughout the past 100 years. Every Wednesday we will post a new and interesting bit of MAAR or real estate industry trivia on our Facebook page. Then in the Weekly REALTOR® on Friday, we will ask a question about that piece of trivia and the 10th member to respond with the correct answer will win $20 in MAAR Education Dollars, good toward the fee for any future MAAR CE class. You must be an active MAAR member in good standing to win and may only win once in every 60 calendar days. Good luck! MAAR Announces FREE CE Program
Every month this year, the MAAR Education Foundation and sponsor Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) will offer at least one FREE* CE class for MAAR members.  All courses will be approved for continuing education credit and will utilize both local and national instructors, covering a variety of topics.  This month's FREE CE special is the RESPA Really Matters course on Wednesday, February 17 from 1 to 5 p.m. for 4 hours credit.  Seats are filling up quickly so Register Online and claim yours now!   Next month's special: Contracts 102 on March 16.  Stay tuned for details.

MAAR Time Capsule Discovered
A time capsule from 1910 was discovered recently in a building downtown that housed MAAR’s first offices. The founding members of the Memphis Real Estate Association, established November 1, 1910, placed items in a time capsule and buried them in December 1910, to be opened 100 years later, in 2010. Neil Hubbard was sent to investigate and unearth the time capsule. It is now in the care of a conservator, who will assist us in opening it and preserving the contents so we can inspect them. Updated IRS Form, Instructions for Claiming Home Buyer Tax Credit Now Available
The IRS has just posted an updated Form 5405 for your clients to claim the Homebuyer Tax Credit. To download the form (in PDF format) click here. The IRS has also posted a brief YouTube video, explaining and promoting the credit. You can view it online here.

Centennial 100th Closing Contest

Of all closings on that date, we will randomly choose one to be our 100th closing winner.
