Governmental Affairs - Grassroots

Grassroots involvement is the key to the successful governmental affairs programs of NAR, TAR, and MAAR.

With just over 1 million REALTORS® in the United States, 18,000 in Tennessee, and over 4,000 in the Memphis area, the real estate industry is an important constituency to our elected officials.

There are many ways in which REALTORS® can become involved:

  1. Register to vote.
  2. Subscribe to online call-for-action programs.
  3. Contribute to RPAC.
  4. Attend MAAR's Annual Political Reception with elected officials and candidates and biennial TAR Legislative Reception, which is held in odd-numbered years.
  5. Get to know your elected officials.
  6. Attend Annual Hill Visits in Nashville and Washington, DC.
  7. Serve on MAAR's Governmental Affairs and/or RPAC Committees.
