Welcome Home Memphis Affordable Housing Education Certification Program

The Memphis Area Association of REALTORS®, with the City of Memphis, developed an education certification program for REALTORS® to increase their knowledge of homeownership assistance programs for low- to moderate-income buyers. REALTORS® who complete the certification program attended courses on the following topics:

  • Getting Your Buyer Qualified and Affordable Financing
  • Credit, Credit Scoring and Credit Problems
  • City of Memphis Down Payment Assistance Programs
  • First-Time Homeowners (THDA Program)
  • Avoiding the Predators
  • Affordable Properties (new developments, rehabilitated properties and foreclosures)
  • Home Maintenance and Repair
  • Foreclosure Prevention

After completing the coursework, REALTORS® must sell five affordable homes, volunteer with a non-profit affordable housing provider and attend an update course every two years.
